Lois Wheller

Director

Lois studied English Literature at Cardiff University (BA(Hons), 1993-1996) and the University of Sussex (MA, 1997-1998; DPhil, 1999-2003). She has worked for 20 years in the heritage sector of architecture and urban design, initially in a research role at Anthony Blee Consultancy, one of the pioneers in the field of townscape and heritage consultancy (2003-2006). She joined the Tavernor Consultancy in 2006, becoming Projects Director in 2011 and Company Director in 2017.

Lois manages the Consultancy with co-Director Louise Newman and leads the Consultancy’s input on projects. She has considerable understanding of design requirements and the UK planning process gained through her work on numerous projects, largely in London. She has advised on a range of schemes, including masterplans with listed buildings (the Grade II BBC Television Centre and Grade II Lambeth Town Hall), masterplans with sensitive settings (Camden Goods Yard, Bankside Yards, Morden Wharf, London Dock and Wembley Stadium), tall buildings in Opportunity Areas (at Blackfriars, Vauxhall, White City, the Old Kent Road, Canada Water and Paddington); and single buildings and extensions in sensitive sites (Bloomberg London, Bush House and Ten Trinity Square).
